Global Health Crisis: Closing the Global Oxygen Gap with Partners In Health

by Partners In Health (PIH)

You can be the difference in the lives of those struggling to catch their first or next breath.
In far too many communities worldwide, oxygen is the difference between life and death.

A staggering 5 billion people — more than 60% of the world’s population — lack access to safe, quality, and affordable medical oxygen services. Its consumed regularly in high-resourced settings, almost overlooked as a critical component to life and basic right of health, but in the world’s poorest and most vulnerable communities, a hidden crisis is unfolding: without safe and reliable oxygen, patients in surgery, with pneumonia, Tuberculosis or chronic disease, expecting mothers, newborn babies and more, are at grave risk.

Partners In Health (PIH) believes quality health care is a universal human right, and with your support, fights injustices like the global oxygen gap by providing care where its needed most. PIH has been a global leader in closing the Oxygen Gap for more than a decade. From building Oxygen plants to delivering Oxygen to rural bedsides, from accompanying Ministries of Health to develop national oxygen strategies to raising the voices of those quietly suffering without it, PIH is ensuring the stuff, space, systems, and social supports are in place to provide lifesaving oxygen therapy in the communities that need it most.

Every $500 helps PIH provide Oxygen at the bedside of a patient in need. Every $50,000 helps PIH keep an Oxygen plant producing the vital and medical grade Oxygen needed to support over 1,000 premature infants, 1,000 children with pneumonia, and 650 adults with pneumonia, every year.

With your support of PIH, you can be the difference in closing the global oxygen gap.
