YOUNG BLACK & LIT

Young, Black & Lit is a non-profit whose mission is to connect Black children to books that center, reflect and affirm their experiences at no cost to them on their families. The long-term goal of Young, Black & Lit is to empower and develop young readers into lifetime learners with increased self-esteem.

Young, Black & Lit's featured program is it's Lit Year program. The goal is to provide 1 book per month to every child in K-3. 2020 is their first year and they are doing a phased rollout focusing on kindergarteners first.
